Squish Central
Test Automation Management
Squish Central BETA is a cross-platform, end-to-end
Test Automation Management Solution which helps to manage and control
all aspects of automated tests. The features of Squish Central include:
- Management of tasks (application deployment, build automation,
etc.) - Management of tests (Squish GUI tests and more)
- Management of the machine pool to execute tests on
- Scheduling of distributed test runs
- Managing and processing test results and reports
- User and role management
- Team collaboration and communication
Squish Central is accessible via a powerful web interface to
set up the automation and perform all needed tasks. The web interface
also includes convenient features such as activity streams and team
collaboration.
Squish Central is a fully distributed, cross platform solution
which allows to run tests and many different targets according to a
defined schedule.
To allow automating the full cycle from building an application to
running the tests, it is possible to specify different sources from
which applications, data and tests can be automatically retrieved and
deployed before execution, such as:
- File transfer from any machine in the managed machine pool
- SCMs such as Subversion, CVS, etc.
- Hudson / Jenkins
- HTTP
Squish Central comes with a tight integration for Squish tests but
also allows to run other types of tests from generic batch / shell
scripts to more sophisticated tests like JUnit / PHPUnit. Squish
Central is also extensible via a plugin architecure to allow adding new
types of tasks and tests.
Squish Central's reporting is optimized for managing a large amount
of results from different targets with a lot of redundency. This is a
typical challenge processing the flood of results from automated test
runs.
For the future more integrations, such as automatically filing
bugs in tools like Jira, Mantis or Bugzilla or integrations into
Requirements and Specification tools are planned.
